Message from FirstNet in Utah

Thank you for visiting the FirstNet in Utah website. Our goal with this website is to be an informational resource for the Utah public safety community to better understand the purpose of FirstNet, learn about the process and efforts that have brought us to where we are today, and provide information to support agencies that may wish to adopt FirstNet service.

FirstNet was created with the promise to be the first nationwide, high-speed, wireless broadband network with priority for public safety. With FirstNet, public safety will no longer be competing with public commercial users for network bandwidth when they need it most to perform their critical mission. For our first responders, this means enhanced situational awareness, more applications and capabilities, and greater safety.

On this website, we provide background about FirstNet and describe the technology and resulting applications and capabilities that are made possible by the network. We discuss FirstNet milestones from initial consultations with states through the acquisition and state plan process that led to the Governor’s decision to opt in and allow FirstNet to deploy the network in Utah.

Finally, we’ve included external resources to provide further information. Visit our video gallery, events page, and news page to stay current with FirstNet activities. As your agency considers adopting FirstNet service, see how you can prepare your agency. Also see the AT&T FirstNet solution for the latest information on pricing, contracting, devices, and applications. We hope you find this website beneficial.

We welcome feedback and suggestions to make this your first and last stop for FirstNet resources for your agency.
